Raisers Edge Plug-in should enable the user to link constituents prior to import.
By using a batch process in import (similar to Net Community), we would be able to link constituents to the gifts and reduce duplicate records.

In the Riasers Edge Plug-in, the csv report that is generated by the import should indicate which donation required adding a new constituent record. Adding the constituent id number would also be helpful.
Since there is no opportunity to link donations to existing constituents, the csv report that is generated from the import should include constituent id numbers and constituent date added.
